Chelsea and I tend to pick books that help her learn different lessons such as her colors, shapes, counting, the alphabet, science experiments, etc. We really love to see the perspective of different authors and how they teach about the different subjects. Some of them are more entertaining than others. We have several books that teach about the alphabet, colors and shapes.
COLORS AND SHAPES: TOUCH-AND-TRACE EARLY LEARNING FUN! by Angie Hewitt (1/17/17, board book, ages 0–2: Kids can use their finger to follow the grooves on each page to learn about basic shapes and colors. Practice tracing squares, circles, triangles, and more, all while learning to identify the color of each shape. Chelsea and I just adore this book. We love sitting done and tracing the different shapes and saying the colors. This book is a big hit in our household. We feel that it would be a big hit for our readers as well.
FIRST NUMBERS: TOUCH-AND-TRACE EARLY LEARNING FUN! by Angie Hewitt (1/17/17, board book, ages 0–2): Kids can use their finger to follow the grooves on each page to learn numbers 1–10. They can practice their numbers by tracing the grooves with their fingers from one snail all the way up to ten leaping frogs. This is a great book for us so that we can practice counting and tracing the different numbers. Chelsea has been practicing writing lately as she is preparing for Kindergarten this upcoming fall. It is really hard to believe my daughter is almost 5 years old.
GROGGLE’S MONSTER VALENTINE by Diana Murray and Bats Langley (1/17/16, picture book, ages 3–6: Groggle has been up all night making a Valentine’s Day card. This isn’t just any Valentine, though, and it has to be perfect—it’s for Snarlina, his beast friend in the whole wide world. Chelsea and I just really enjoyed this book. We feel that it is a great book to go along with the Valentine’s Holiday. This is definitely a sweet book and it is enjoyable to read. We love the pictures that are included in this book and are very happy to add this book to our library. I feel that this would be a great choice for the holidays.
We love to try to read at least 1 book every night. Chelsea always is picking different books from our collection of books.
