Reading with Chelsea: New Favorites from Penguin Young Readers Group! #Reading #ChildrensBooks

Sometimes I feel like I may have lived a sheltered life. Since one of these books is actually a 75th Anniversary Edition. I wish that I knew about this book sooner. Make your way for Ducklings by Robert McCloskey is such an adorable story and it wouldn’t fit Chelsea and I any better. We just adore wildlife. This book would have been a great addition to our camping trip last month. I know that we will be bringing it along with us next year. Each year when we go camping it is around the time when the ducklings are hatching so we get to see the little baby ducks and even baby geese.

Seventy-five years ago, a family of ducks waddled off the page and into the hearts of readers everywhere. The brilliantly illustrated tale of mallards on the move received the Caldecott Medal for the most distinguished picture book of the year, and has been a favorite of generations of readers.

Since we just love animals we also got to check out Chimpanzees for Tea. This one is just as adorable. It is about a Mother sending her child to the store with a small grocery list. Sometimes its hard to remember what items that you need to get especially if you have distractions. Vincent had distractions left and right from his neighbors. Each item on the list began to change as Vincent forgot what he had to get. Peas turned in to a trapeze and a box of rice turned into a box of mice. Chelsea just adored this story. She really loves monkeys so it was a big hit for her.
